Privacy in this pilot

What this environment is

This is a controlled prototype for lecturer validation. It is not a production university deployment and must not be used for live student assessment.

No student data

This pilot involves no real students and no real student submissions. Please do not upload identifiable student information of any kind. The cohort figures shown in the dashboard are fictional and labelled as illustrative.

What we hold about you

Your name, work email, institution, discipline and role, taken from your invitation. A lecturer code that identifies your contributions without using your name. The assessment sessions you create, and the feedback you choose to give.

Where it is stored

Application data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the Southeast Asia (Singapore) region. Access is restricted by row level security, so one lecturer cannot read another lecturer's material.

Uploaded files are stored privately in Vercel Blob. They are never given a public URL. Access requires an authenticated request from your own account.

Deletion

You choose whether your uploaded files are deleted as soon as your session ends, or after a retention window. You can delete any file immediately from within a session.

When a file is deleted, it is removed from storage and the record is marked deleted only once that removal actually succeeds. If deletion fails we record the failure and retry rather than reporting a deletion that did not happen.

Model use

Your uploaded material is sent to Anthropic's API to generate an assessment draft. It is not used to train models. Akanya does not train any model on your material.

Your control

You can withdraw from the pilot at any time and ask us to delete everything associated with your account. Write to hello@teddykgroup.co.za.
